Arbitrum Foundation and the well-known NFT brand Azuki are teaming up to create a web3 platform for fans of anime. This collaboration, known as AnimeChain, will offer a range of anime-related content including games, merchandise, and NFTs from both original and third-party sources.
CEO of Azuki, Zagabond, took to social media to highlight that AnimeChain will revolutionize the way anime products are created and consumed. Up until now, anime enthusiasts have been unable to enjoy a seamless web3 experience, as most anime projects on web3 have been disjointed. According to Zagabond, AnimeChain will leverage Arbitrum’s advanced scalability to provide a more cohesive experience for fans.
In a separate announcement, the Arbitrum Foundation disclosed that it will be dedicating 200 million ARB tokens, valued at $344 million, to support gaming projects on its blockchain over the next two years. Furthermore, in February, Arbitrum shared its decision to fund a feature film produced by Shane Boris, an Oscar-winning filmmaker.
DefiLlama reported that Arbitrum’s Total Value Locked (TVL) surpassed $3 billion this year. However, the ARB token, which hit an all-time high in January, has experienced a decline of nearly 30% due to increased liquidation.
