Renowned actor David Bianchi, known for his work on hit shows like Resident Alien and Queen of the South, is shaking things up by hosting a groundbreaking decentralized table reading for his upcoming RZR series. Table reads, a crucial part of the film and TV development process, typically take place behind closed doors, allowing the cast and crew to hear the script read aloud.
Bianchi is breaking tradition by turning his table reading into a public event, leveraging blockchain technology to make it accessible to all. The highly anticipated RZR series will explore the world of web3, NFTs, and blockchain, with the concept originating from a conversation Bianchi had with Sarah Buxton, the COO of Gala Film, back in the summer of 2022.
Since then, Bianchi has been hard at work writing the script and assembling a team of creators for RZR. He has even minted two RZR NFT tokens, emphasizing that the project is not driven by financial gain but rather by building a strong community around the series. Gala Film, known for its expertise in web3 entertainment, will handle the production and distribution of RZR.
Sarah Buxton, COO of Gala Film, expressed her excitement at being part of a project that promotes NFTs and web3 through engaging entertainment. Filming for RZR is set to begin in February, with a premiere date scheduled for later this year. Noelle Hubbell will collaborate with Gala on the production, while Claire Koonce from CAA will serve as the casting director.
