Gucci’s latest venture with The Sandbox allows users to delve into the brand’s rich history in a virtual exhibition.
Despite the waning interest in the metaverse, Gucci, the renowned Italian luxury fashion house, is embracing virtual reality with a new project in partnership with The Sandbox, a blockchain-based gaming platform.
In a recent blog post on November 8, 2023, The Sandbox revealed the launch of Gucci Cosmos Land, an immersive hub where visitors can explore decades of iconic designs and delve into the brand’s origins.
Each section of the exhibition offers a unique insight into Gucci’s journey, from its founding in 1921 to its creative inspirations and core values.
As part of the collaboration, players on The Sandbox can customize their avatars with skins inspired by the Gucci Cosmos exhibition, including designs from Creative Director Sabato De Sarno’s debut fashion show.
The news of the partnership led to a 7% surge in SAND price, reaching $0.41, according to CoinGecko data.
This latest initiative is part of Gucci’s ongoing efforts to establish a strong presence in the metaverse industry. In October 2022, Gucci made headlines by becoming the first major fashion brand to secure virtual land on The Sandbox. The brand also introduced Gucci Vault, a space dedicated to NFTs, vintage Gucci items, and emerging virtual creators.
Gucci’s foray into the metaverse industry continues to make waves, with the brand recently premiering Milan Fashion Week in a virtual setting. Stay updated by following us on Google News.
