Lotte Data Communications (LDCC), the leading ICT provider in Korea, is gearing up for the upcoming CES 2023 in Las Vegas, USA. The Central Hall, the main exhibition area, will showcase various metaverse technologies.
LDCC’s metaverse is set to be even more advanced this year. After sparking interest with their debut at CES last year, they are returning with a booth three times larger and more sophisticated experience content.
Inspired by the movie “Ready Player One,” Lotte Metaverse envisions a world where the boundaries between online and offline blur. Users can seamlessly transition between the virtual and physical worlds, utilizing products acquired in the metaverse.
The company is developing a cutting-edge metaverse platform that offers hyper-realistic content to support industries like fashion, cosmetics, and home goods. Customers can now make purchases directly from crude product images that resemble gaming objects.
By incorporating state-of-the-art technology patents, LDCC enables users to interact realistically with objects and characters in VR content. Lotte’s metaverse aims to provide users with an immersive shopping experience by combining real-life characters with visually stunning backgrounds created using Unreal Engine 5.
Lotte believes that the metaverse has no boundaries and can surpass the real world in showcasing products. Fashion items can be displayed in an art gallery setting, while camping gear can be presented in a virtual forest.
In addition to introducing an NFT marketplace and a cryptocurrency wallet, LDCC plans to launch an NFT series by the first half of 2023. They aim to kick off early access by the end of the year, laying the groundwork for a full-scale metaverse business.
