Fresh updates from the CES 2023 event in Nevada reveal that tech giant Microsoft is set to revolutionize the consumer experience with cutting-edge services in the metaverse.
CES is known for setting the stage for the future of consumer technology, and Microsoft is at the forefront of the metaverse revolution.
During a live interview on CoinDesk TV’s “all about bitcoin” from CES 2023, Microsoft’s Chief Strategy Officer Henry Bzeih hinted at the company’s exploration of a hybrid model for managing consumer and business relationships.
Bzeih discussed the potential applications of the metaverse, including buying cars through metaverse platforms and showcasing car features and customization options in a virtual setting. He highlighted Microsoft’s virtual car showroom featuring the Fiat 500e and mentioned a collaboration with metaverse startup Touchcast for data development on that specific Fiat model.
Addressing challenges, Bzeih acknowledged that introducing metaverse-enabled cars to the American market may take time due to the need for franchise owners to grasp the concepts and opportunities in the metaverse. He proposed a hybrid business model as a solution to ensure that significant investments in physical locations are not wasted, referencing Microsoft’s failed attempt to acquire Activision Blizzard over antitrust concerns.
In a recent move, Microsoft quietly banned virtual mining currency on its services on Dec. 1, in response to the rising popularity of cryptocurrencies. Stay updated with the latest news on Google News.
