Aptos Labs, the innovative team responsible for creating a layer-1 blockchain, has joined forces with Google Cloud in a strategic partnership to enhance gaming experiences with web3 capabilities.
Google Cloud, renowned for its comprehensive cloud services, has expanded its network of blockchain collaborators by focusing on integrating gaming into the evolving web3 environment. In this latest collaboration, the tech giant has teamed up with Aptos Labs, known for their groundbreaking work on the Aptos blockchain, as stated in a press release shared with crypto.news.
As part of this partnership, Google Cloud has extended its support to Aptos’ newest project named “Aptos GameStack,” a platform designed to streamline the creation, integration, and connection of blockchain features within video games.
By tapping into Google’s vast resources, Aptos aims to enhance its platform by incorporating advanced analytics and integrating artificial intelligence and machine learning tools alongside web3 gaming technologies.
The anticipated Aptos GameStack will offer a range of products, including access to Unity APIs for digital wallets, transactions, non-fungible token (NFT) collections, and other web3 components. Moreover, developers will have the flexibility to implement web2 sign-on scripts, enabling seamless integration with users’ existing social networks like Facebook or Gmail.
This collaboration comes at a pivotal moment in the web3 gaming sector, as the total value of web3 gaming tokens has surpassed $30 billion for the first time in years. As highlighted in a previous report by crypto.news, Edward Wilson from Nansen attributed this growth to a shift in investor behavior towards higher-risk investments, leading to increased exploration beyond traditional cryptocurrencies in search of potential returns.
With the upcoming Game Developer Conference, an annual gathering for video game developers, expected to generate interest in web3 gaming, the excitement surrounding gaming tokens is set to grow even further, according to Wilson.
