Alibaba Cloud, a subsidiary of the well-known Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba, has joined forces with Avalanche to create a launchpad that enables businesses to deploy metaverses on the blockchain. This new platform, called Cloudverse, is designed to be a one-stop solution for companies to easily customize, launch, and maintain their metaverse spaces, offering a fresh way to engage with customers. All blockchain elements of Cloudverse, including digital land and wearables, are built on Avalanche.
Alibaba Cloud will provide scalable and secure cloud infrastructure services, while Avalanche, in collaboration with third partner MUA DAO, will focus on creating solutions for developing metaverse spaces. Raymond Xiao, Head of International Web3 Solutions at Alibaba Cloud Intelligence, noted that the growing popularity of blockchain technology and the metaverse has led many Asia-Pacific businesses to venture into the Web3 space.
Xiao emphasized that launching the metaverse launchpad on Avalanche for CloudVerse presents an exciting opportunity for businesses to start their metaverse journeys, drive innovation, explore new possibilities for their businesses, and enhance customer experiences. The integration between Alibaba Cloud and Avalanche was initially announced in December 2022 to support the former’s Node-as-a-Service initiatives, providing infrastructure and tools to assist Asia-based users in launching validators on the network.
As Alibaba Cloud continues to expand its presence in the Web3 industry, the company has unveiled plans to foster the growth of a more inclusive and secure modern internet powered by blockchain technology. Recently, Alibaba Cloud partnered with Elastos, a layer one blockchain protocol, to develop and deploy next-generation solutions. In January, Alibaba Cloud signed a memorandum of understanding with Sui blockchain developer Mysten Labs to construct sustainable Web3 ecosystems.
