Blockchain analytics company TRM Labs has recently made a significant addition to its leadership team by appointing Boon Hui Khoo as a senior advisor. Khoo’s role at TRM Labs will involve working to combat fraud and financial crime in the cryptocurrency space while strengthening relationships with regulatory authorities worldwide. TRM Labs CEO Esteban Castaño expressed confidence in Khoo’s extensive experience, highlighting his valuable insights that will further collaboration with law enforcement and regulatory partners across the Asia Pacific region.
Boon Hui Khoo brings a wealth of experience to TRM Labs, having previously served as Singapore’s Commissioner of Police from 1997 to 2010 and as President of Interpol from 2008 to 2012. From 2017 to 2019, Khoo also served as an independent commissioner on the Global Commission on the Stability of Cyberspace, a forum dedicated to internet governance.
TRM Labs’ decision to expand its advisory board comes at a time when its main competitor, Chainalysis, is also making strategic moves. Just days before TRM Labs’ announcement, Chainalysis welcomed former International Revenue Service crime chief Jim Lee as its global head of capacity building. Lee’s focus at Chainalysis will be on assisting international agencies in developing strategies to combat crimes related to cryptocurrencies.
