    Dear Hearsay readers,

It has been a challenging week, feeling down and gloomy in London due to dreary weather and a lack of motivation. I have some personal news to share as I will be relocating back to Warsaw next week, so crypto enthusiasts in Poland, feel free to reach out!

    Now, onto the juicy gossip…

Is Martin Shkreli launching a new token?
“I have been tirelessly working with my team of 10 colleagues, diligently building a startup. We’re making progress, attracting top investors, and gaining traction with our product which involves AI and extensive use of GPUs,” Shkreli recently revealed about the project.
The twist? Shkreli expressed frustration as a former inmate he met in prison dumped five million tokens of the project that Shkreli had gifted him before the launch. This individual promoted the project in private Discord channels while simultaneously selling off his own tokens. Talk about being betrayed by someone you met in jail. Looks like ‘pharmabro’ can’t seem to catch a break.

On the topic of controversial figures, Andrew Tate recently showed support for Bitcoin, despite his reputation as a controversial masculinity guru. Yes, it’s true – while under house arrest in Romania, he praised Bitcoin, citing it as a tool against tyranny or possibly for evading taxes.

Digital Art Week in London was a hit, showcasing that NFTs are far from obsolete. The event featured innovative digital displays like Ventana LED, slim digital screens I encountered at Ideaworks Experience. A champagne reception celebrated the works of digital artists Yuma Yanagisawa and Ryan Koopmans in Mayfair. Koopmans, renowned for his digital art photography capturing post-Soviet ruins in places like Georgia and Armenia, explores themes of life, death, and renewal in his landscapes.

Moving on, Yuga Labs announced layoffs as interest in profile picture NFTs seems to be declining. “In simple terms: Yuga lost its way,” the Yuga Labs CEO stated. “To refocus, we need to become a leaner, more agile, and crypto-savvy team.” It appears that the trend of PFPs may be losing its appeal.

Upcoming highlights include the Digital Art Mile at the Art Basel fair from June 10-16. This event will introduce a digitally focused section at the renowned Art Basel fair in Switzerland, featuring works by web3 collectors and curators like George Bak and Roger Haas. The Venice Biennale also showcased digital art, notably Sam Spratt’s Monument Game, illustrating the evolving landscape of digital art.

In conclusion, NFTs continue to evolve and hold significance as markers of digital creativity and value. They represent a token of digital care, emphasizing the importance of digital heritage in the modern era.

That wraps up this week’s edition – stay curious and remember to take a break outdoors

    Warm regards,
Your author on a rare sunny day in London, England. April 30, 2024.
