The TON Society and AI company HumanCode have joined forces to implement a system for verifying identities. In a recent announcement, the TON Society revealed that they have set aside 1 million TON, which is worth approximately $5.9 million, as an incentive for individuals who complete the verification process. These funds will be distributed among TON Society members who confirm their identity by using a palm print. Anyone interested in joining the community can do so by linking their wallet. HumanCode will be providing the technology for human palm scanning, which offers a fast and highly accurate method of verifying a person’s identity. The objective of this partnership is to address the increasing issue of bots and to introduce web3 identity to the Telegram platform. As a result of this news, the price of the Toncoin (TON) token has risen by 10.5% to reach a record high of $5.90, leading to a market cap of $20.2 billion. Furthermore, in March, the TON development team announced that they would be distributing 30 million TON to users who participated in ecosystem projects, and they began distributing the coins to various users by April 1. Last year, a similar technology for personal identification was proposed by Worldcoin, a cryptocurrency project that uses iris scanning for verifying identities in order to distribute tokens for free. However, since its launch in July 2023, the project has faced investigations in several countries, including Germany, France, the U.K., and Kenya, due to concerns over the collection of user biometric data.
